Sunday Serving

Our Sunday gatherings are an important part of our church family life, and it takes a whole bunch of people chipping in to make them happen!

Contact us for the roster link.

Read on below for more detailed descriptions of each role. We’ll also explain things further in person.

Welcoming

This role is so important in making people feel not only ‘greeted at the door’, but welcomed and included. You don’t need to be outgoing or extroverted to do this well! Check out this blog post we wrote a while ago about church welcoming.

  • Arrive by 3pm

  • Set up a small table near the door with welcome flyers, welcome sign, kids sign-in sheet, hand sanitiser, masks (mask-wearing not compulsory).

  • Stay near front door and welcome people as they arrive

  • When new people come:

    • Give them a welcome flyer

    • Explain what’s happening (e.g. we start with afternoon tea, we go into the main room around 3.45…)

    • Explain what’s where (e.g. toilets, afternoon tea)

    • Introduce them to someone else

    • If they have kids with them, explain: Kids’ church starts after worship during term time and parents need to sign them in and out (sign-in sheet on welcome table). Introduce them to kids’ leader for that day. For babies/toddlers, explain that there is space for them to play on floor at back of main room. Changing bench in accessible bathroom.

  • Pack up welcome table afterwards

Arvo tea

  • Arrive by 3pm

  • Bring some simple food plus milk

  • Set up hot drink station on kitchen bench (hot drink supplies are in our kitchen cupboard under middle bench), and set up food on the small square tables in foyer .

  • Help set up communion - break up crackers into cupcake cases and pour cordial into cups (Ribena cordial in fridge, communion suppliers in kitchen cupboard)

  • Hang around in kitchen to assist people with hot drinks etc (it’s mostly self-service).

  • Clean up kitchen afterwards

Sound

  • Arrive 2.30pm

  • Help set up music gear

  • Mix sound during rehearsal and during gathering (we will train you!)

  • Help pack up music gear

Screen

  • Arrive by 3.15pm

  • Set up laptop and projector

  • Run screen during announcements, worship and talk if required (we will train you!)

  • Pack up laptop and projector afterwards

Set Up / Pack Up

  • Arrive by 2.30pm

  • Set up chairs, decor (e.g. lights, plants), signage out the front, and pack it all up afterwards (we will show you what goes where!)

  • After gathering, collect and take out rubbish, vacuum and general tidy.

Kids

There are exciting opportunities in our kids’ ministry for you to impact the lives of young people. We need two adults each week - one leader and one helper. You will be rostered on roughly every 5 weeks. Resources/guides are available to help with planning and delivery. You will need a WWVP card and to attend compulsory training every couple of years. For more info on working with our kids contact us.
