Who are we?
Redhill is a new-ish church in Canberra.
We are a group of people who want to be partners in the gospel. We value wholehearted worship, biblical teaching, prayer, authentic community and active compassion.
The leadership team
Our leadership team are in their 20s and 30s and live in Woden and Tuggeranong. When we’re not together we spend our days working in schools, construction sites, government, the arts and looking after babies. Between us we get into music, sports, cooking up a storm, building stuff, surfing, writing and finding the best cafes and bars in Canberra. Brent Smith is our team leader and pastor of Redhill.

- (L-R): Jill, Brent, Vaughan (with little Judah), Emily, Josh.

What do we believe and value?
We believe that Jesus is the son of God, and that through Him alone we can have a genuine relationship with our Father and Creator God. We believe that the Holy Spirit helps us to understand all this, and empowers us with the tools we need to become more like Jesus and impact the world in His name.
Our core values shape everything that we do. They are wholehearted worship, prayer, biblical teaching, authentic community and active compassion.

What’s “church”?
“Church” is the word we use to describe the people who are called out by Jesus to share the good news of who He is and what He’s done.
.
What’s the good news?
The good news – sometimes called the “gospel” – is that even though we’re far from perfect, our Father God has made a way for us to be in good relationship with His perfect self. He did this by sending His son Jesus to take the punishment that we deserved. And then rather than just leaving us alone, He gave us His Holy Spirit as a comforter and guide. Pretty good, huh?
There’s heaps more to it, and you can read all about it in the Bible. Or contact us with any questions you have. You can also check out a bit of a summary of the good news by visiting the following websites:

Why the name “Redhill”?
“Redhill” refers to the cross and the blood of Jesus.
At Redhill we want to be all about Jesus. He is why we meet and He is the centre of our lives. When Jesus was put to death on a cross on the hill of Calvary, we were made right with God. His sacrifice – His blood – makes friendship with God possible. That bloodstained hill is a symbol of the amazing thing that God has done in reconciling us to Him!
“Red Hill” is also a hill in Canberra’s inner south. On this hill we’ve met to discuss the formation of this church, prayed and worshipped as we looked out on the Woden area – our first mission field!

Who are we affiliated with?
We are affiliated with NSW Churches of Christ, which is a mainstream Christian denomination.
Our leadership team have a close working relationship with Soul Survivor NSW/ACT and are involved in a number of their activities in Canberra and beyond.
Prior to Redhill, Brent was Associate Pastor at LifeStream Christian Fellowship in Wanniassa ACT, and we still maintain a very good relationship with them. We also have good relationships with a number of churches in Canberra, so if Redhill is not for you we would be happy to help you find another church family.
